The Band..

Tom Chippindall is the Mandolin and Banjo player in Turas. Tom has been playing Mandolin and Banjo for 8 years and was taught by Victorian virtuoso, Ralph Smith. He also makes his own mandolins, bouzoukis and ukeleles. Click here to check out his work.

Leueen Morgan's fiddle playing is highly regarded amongst Australian Irish musicians. Leu, the 2001 Declan Affely Award winner, started playing the violin at the age of 5, and until she heard Riverdance and Eileen Ivers, Leu had been playing Classical Music. Upon hearing the jigs and reels Leu sought a teacher to learn the style. L'hibou Hornung was that teacher, and from that moment on, Leu became addicted to Irish music.

Tim Gleeson is the Guitarist and Bouzouki player in Turas. He went along to his first Irish session in Launceston with a Piper and a Sonor floor-tom. Needless to say, he has become a little more subtle in the intervening years, and has become known for his rich and percussive style of playing. Tim is also likely to break into song after a jar or three.

Craig Greer has been playing whistle and bodhran for around ten years, having tinkered with power chords on the guitar in a largely misspent youth. Craig was a founding member of Tasmanian Irish trad act Freylok and is currently living in Adelaide where he teaches whistle at the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoírí Éireann.
